Technology to Achieve 'Net Zero'

Carbon Clean hires new Director of People and Talent to accelerate growth

Rohan Kallicharan has been appointed Director of People and Talent for Carbon Clean – a global leader in cost-effective CO2 capture technology and services.

With a background in talent acquisition and building teams in high growth organisations, Kallicharan is ideally equipped to ensure Carbon Clean can continue to scale rapidly.

“Our technology can truly impact the lives of generations to come. However, the mission will only come to life with brilliant people behind it,” says Kallicharan. “The opportunity, as a people leader, to scale and build on a great culture is absolutely compelling and I’m so excited about the journey ahead of us.”

Carbon Clean’s headcount has grown by 200% since the close of its Series B funding round in July 2020 and it expects to double again by the end of this financial year in response to a 550% increase in its project pipeline. To accommodate this growth, the company will be moving its global headquarters to new premises in Southwark, London in autumn 2021 and will soon establish regional hubs in North America, strengthening its presence in this increasingly important market.

Carbon Clean recently announced an additional $8m in funding, with CEMEX as a new investor, through a Series B extension which it will use to accelerate the global decarbonisation of hard-to-abate sectors with its revolutionary modular technology. Attracting the best talent to deliver on this mission is crucial and will be a key focus for Kallicharan.

“We are thrilled to welcome Rohan to our growing team. His passion and enthusiasm will ensure we recruit and keep the very best people, achieving our global growth plans while preserving our culture and values,” says Aniruddha Sharma, CEO of Carbon Clean.

Besides his role at Carbon Clean, Kallicharan is a Mind Ambassador and a Role Model for InsideOut LeaderBoard – a social enterprise with a mission to end the stigma of mental ill-health in the workplace.
